The 17th annual Armistice Day program is intended to reclaim the day as one to promote peace, not celebrate militarism.

Speakers

Medea Benjamin will speak on “War in Ukraine:  Making Sense of a Senseless Conflict"

Medea Benjamin.  Co-founder of the women-led peace group Codepink, human rights group Global Exchange, Peace In Ukraine Coalition, and more.  An advocate for social justice for 50 years.  “One of America’s most committed and most effective fighters for human rights.” – NY Newsday.  “One of the high profile leaders of the peace movement” – LA Times

Mark Denning will speak on “Aakode’ewin – The Fearless Heart and the Cost of War”

Mark Denning is an enrolled tribal member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. Mark is an educator, lecturer, and curriculum specialist in Native American history and culture, who has been involved in public education programming for over 40 years. His work has taken him all over the world, working with people, communities, and organizations.
