Supports Full Funding for the United Nations
Recently, the House of Representatives reviewed the Fiscal Year 2025 State/Foreign Operations (SFOPS) legislation. 75 amendments are up for debate, including extreme anti-UN proposals. Thanks to efforts from UNA-USA, during Leadership Summit and outreach to Congress, five extreme anti-UN amendments were defeated and prevented from being included in the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Fiscal Year 2025 bill.
Unfortunately, the bill as a whole was voted on by the House of Representative on June 28th and passed 212 – 200.
This bill zeroes out the United Nations and outright prohibits a half dozen UN bodies from being funded.
The Senate will likely begin consideration of the bill the second week of July. What can YOU do? Ask your Senators to support full funding for the United Nations TODAY.
